Katie's Interview:

Q: What inspired/gravited you towards this career?

A: I work in a lab full-time currently, so that job made me think of vet school. Since I think being a vet would be a nice experience for the next step towards my future.

Q: What training/education do you need for this job?

A: Working in a lab full time has exposed me to a lot of opportunities and experiences with animals. I'm familiar with blood collections, I've performed surgeries, and worked with lots of different animals in the research setting with other veterinarians. I think I was hired due to these experiences.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I like seeing animals. It is interesting to see hospital setting than a lab setting.

Q: What would you like to change about your job?

A: I think a more structured training for newly hired employees would benefit everyone in this clinic.

Q: Has this industry surprised you in any way, shape, or form? Or did you predict everything like how it is right now?

A: I actually thought my experiences from the labs would've carried through to this clinic more, but right now I know that I still have a lot to learn.

Q: Are you satisfied with the work environment/hours you are given right now?

A: Yes, I am very satified. They gave me the perfect amount of hours I need, which is very generous of them.

Q: What is one thing that you think I should know about this job if I am thinking about going into it as a career?

A: You might hear this a lot, but try to figure out early of what to do in life.
